About Us

Gate Healthcare was established in 1989 and currently own three Care Homes in Scotland; Howard House, Westwood House and Kintyre House.

The current board of Directors comprise of Ronnie Williamson, and Anne Mundell, whose respective experience includes Property, Finance, and Nursing. Based at their Head Office in Glasgow, the Directors provide specialist support to the Home Managers.

Kintyre House

Fiona Robertson trained as a nurse specialising in mental health and holds a Registered Manager’s qualification. She worked in the NHS and abroad before returning to her Highland roots, joining Gate Healthcare as Team Leader 5 years ago. Fiona was promoted to Manager at Kintyre House in September 2007. She is a natural leader with very high standards, and maintains excellent community links to ensure her residents enjoy a real home from home experience.

Howard House

Brenda Murphy's experience in Care Homes began over 20 years ago. During her nursing career she specialised in palliative care and holds a Registered Managers qualification. She joined Gate Healthcare 10 years ago as Manager of Howard House. Born and bred in Kilmarnock, Brenda leads her team by example and achieves a very high standard of professionalism, whilst maintaining a wonderful homely environment.

Westwood House

Chris Coutts joined Gate Healthcare after a career of 30 years in the National Health Service and has been Manager at Westwood House for the last 9 years. In addition to her nursing qualifications Chris has a Masters in Business Administration. Originally from the Island of Barra Chris brings the true essence of Highland hospitality to Westwood House.
